Dr. Trung Nguyen grew up in San Jose. He graduated from UC San Diego with a bachelor’s degree in Human Biology. Prior to pursuing a career in dentistry, he worked as an Emergency Medical Technician in San Diego before moving back to the Bay Area to attend UCSF School of Dentistry, where he earned his D.D.S. degree. While at UCSF, he held numerous leadership positions in student organizations and was awarded the American Academy of Periodontology Dental Student Award.
After dental school, Dr. Nguyen went on to earn his master’s degree in Orofacial Sciences and specialty training in periodontology at UCSF. During residency, he served as the chief resident and has published in the International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry, Biology, and Clinical Advances in Periodontics.
